Biography

I am a research engineer with IIHR—Hydroscience and Engineering and an adjunct professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Iowa. My college education includes an MSc (from Polytechnic Institute Cluj — Romania, and University of Iowa) and a PhD, also from the University of Iowa. My research interests related to floods include river monitoring (from data acquisition to estimation methods and strategies for discharge monitoring), uncertainty analysis, and cyberinfrastructure-based watershed data and information systems. Among my synergistic activities related to floods, I am involved involvement as an expert with UNESCO's International Hydrologic Program and World Meteorological Organization Commission for Hydrology projects.
