Mohamed Abdelkader
I am an assistant research scientist at IIHR—Hydroscience and Engineering and a civil engineer. My research focuses on studying the water cycle within coupled human-environmental systems at various spatial and temporal scales using numerical modeling and data-driven methods. I am particularly interested in understanding and predicting changes in extreme events such as floods, droughts, and wildfire due to natural and human influences.
My work includes applying remote-sensing techniques to monitor soil moisture, precipitation, and river ice. I am currently working on advancing research to operations in hydrology across scales through the integration of remote sensing, numerical models, and developing applications for both expert and non-expert users.
